# Components

Components are existing product screenings that you reuse as part of a larger product. This avoids duplicating data across screenings.

  <Step title="Click 'Add component'">
    In your screening, click **Add component** to get started.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select an existing screening">
    Choose the product screening you want to add as a component — for example, "Legs - Our Chair 1.0". This must already exist as a product screening.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Adjust packaging elements">
    Uncheck any packaging elements that are not needed when this component is used in the final product.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the component">
    Click **Update material** to save the component.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add additional components">
    Repeat the process for each additional component. Click **Add component** again, select the next screening, adjust packaging as needed, and click **Update material**.
