# Supplier Locations

Supplier locations define where your suppliers are based and their position in your supply chain. Målbar recommends starting as far back in your supply chain as possible — if you know your tier 2 or tier 3 suppliers, start with those.

  <Step title="Go to Locations">
    Click **Locations** in the top bar, then click **+ Create location**.

  <Step title="Select location type">
    Click the **Type** field and choose **Supplier location** from the drop-down menu.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the supplier name">
    Type the name of your supplier in the **Name** field.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select the country">
    Find and select the country where your supplier is located. You can search by name or browse by continent.

  <Step title="Select the supply chain tier">
    Choose the supplier's position in your supply chain.

    <Note>
      **Tier 1** suppliers deliver directly to you. **Tier 2** suppliers deliver to your tier 1 suppliers. If you know tier 2 or tier 3 suppliers, register those first.

  <Step title="Enter the VAT number">
    Click the **VAT number** field and enter the supplier's VAT number.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the supplier address">
    Provide the specific address of your supplier.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the location">
    Click **Create location**. You will be returned to the Locations page where the new supplier appears in the list.

  <Step title="Add more suppliers">
    Repeat the process for each supplier by clicking **+ Create location** again.
