# Warehouse Location

Warehouse locations define where your goods are stored and for how long. This information is used to calculate the environmental impact of storage in your LCA screening.

  <Step title="Click '+ Create location'">
    Go to **Locations** in the top bar and click **+ Create location**.

  <Step title="Select location type">
    Click the **Type** field and select **Warehouse** from the drop-down menu.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter a name">
    Type the warehouse name or any identifiable title for it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select the country">
    Select the country where the warehouse is located.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check 'Own' if applicable">
    If you own this location, tick the **Own** checkbox.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter total capacity">
    Enter the total capacity of the warehouse in square metres.

    <Note>
      If you rent your storage space rather than own it, enter the capacity of the specific area you manage — not the full warehouse.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter shelf height">
    Enter the shelf height in metres.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter average storage time">
    Enter the average number of weeks your goods are stored at this location.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the warehouse address">
    Provide the full address of the warehouse.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the location">
    Click **Create location** to save.
